Corrections

Accuracy matters on a site about equipment that holds thousands of pounds over water. If you find an error, an outdated figure, or a procedure that does not match your experience, please tell us.

How to report an error

Use the contact form and choose "Correction". Include the page address, what you believe is wrong, and if possible a source (a manual, standard, or specification). Field experience is welcome too: if you install or service lifts and a guide does not match what you see, we want to know.

How we handle reports

  1. We check every report against our sources and, where needed, additional primary sources.
  2. If the page is wrong, we fix it. Safety-related errors are corrected first.
  3. For significant corrections (anything that could change a reader's decision or affect safety), we add a short note at the end of the page describing what changed, and record it in the log below.
  4. Minor fixes (typos, broken links, wording that does not change meaning) are made without a log entry.

Correction log

Significant corrections are listed here, newest first, with the date and the page affected.
